About Lyndon Davies
Most of my working life was spent in sales and marketing. From all the forms of art I have admired over the years-wood has always been my first love.
I joined the Peninsula Woodturners Guild Incorporated, Frankson Victoria.
I was taught the practicalities of wood turning along with form and design by some of whom I believe are to be the best wood turners in Australia - Bill Barber and Gordon Jones, who taught me not only to turn but to see the beauty in each piece of wood.
I prefer to call it "the spirit of the wood" The uniqueness of each piece of wood that nature lovingly grew.
I try to portray in my turning.
Quite often it is the wood that tells me what it wants to look like.
I feel honoured that I have been given this gift enabling me to share what I turn with others.
I have turned wood from all over the world, but there is something quite special about our Australian Timbers.
I believe that each piece of timber I turn shows the harshness and beauty of our great country.
I hope you see the same.
